Sophie DeLuca Counselling in Nelson, BC

This modality is a holistic approach that integrates mind and body, recognizing how physical sensations, posture, and movement are linked to our emotional and psychological states. It helps individuals understand how past experiences, stress, and trauma are stored in the body, using this insight to promote healing and growth.

Somatic Foundations

Increases
Self-Awareness

By tuning into our bodies, we can better understand how our physical experiences relate to our emotions and thoughts.

Re-negotiates Trauma

Somatic techniques can help release the impact of trauma energy that may be stored in the body, facilitating emotional healing.

Supports Emotional Regulation

As we become more in tune with our bodies, it can become easier to explore and process emotions with greater self-compassion.

Releases Tension

The body often holds muscle tension as a protective mechanism learned from past experience. By fostering a greater sense of safety, the body can learn to release this tension little by little.

Nelson, BC, V1L 1K7

I am deeply grateful to live and work in the unceded, traditional, and ancestral territory and təmxʷulaʔxʷ (homeland) of the Sinixt people in Nelson, BC. This land has also been tended by other nations including the Ktunaxa and Syilx peoples. I am committed to learning more about how to support my diverse community.
