Jikiden Reiki is a traditional Japanese healing practice that works with the body's energy to help restore balance and calm the nervous system. Through gentle, hands-on techniques, it supports the body’s natural ability to release stress, tension, and emotional blockages.

What can it support?

What to expect in a session:

Hands-on Healing

Jikiden Reiki is a hands-on healing practice that involves gentle, sustained holds over clothing. This traditional Japanese approach encourages deep relaxation, helping the nervous system shift into a calm, restorative state.

Guided Visualizations

Creative visualization uses the mind’s eye to evoke calming images, sensations, or symbols—such as warm light, flowing energy, or peaceful landscapes. This practice encourages deep relaxation and inner awareness, making it a natural complement to Jikiden Reiki.

Relaxing into Deep Rest

Jikiden Reiki promotes a rest-and-digest response, shifting the body from a stressed (sympathetic) state into a relaxed (parasympathetic) state. Studies on touch therapies have shown that gentle, sustained contact can reduce cortisol (stress hormone) levels and increase oxytocin, a hormone associated with feelings of safety and relaxation.

Integration

Integration is the gentle unfolding that happens after a healing session, as the body and mind absorb shifts and insights. This may involve rest, reflection, or simply noticing subtle changes in awareness, emotions, or physical sensations.
